Live Rock The live rock cultured at the Aqua Farm is called "Miami Oolite" and is from the Florida Keys. Receding oceans over many years have left an abundance of fossilized coral and reef bed along the coast, which is then unearthed and shipped to us for 'culturing.' Aqua Farm live rock is sold per pound and priced according to quality. The lower end live rock is $3.00 per pound, and the higher end rock is $4.00 per pound. The higher end live rock is more porous and has accumulated more of the desired coralline algae.
